About Our School

A Different Kind of School Day

“Our aim is not merely to make the child understand, and still less to force him to memorize, but so to touch his imagination as to enthuse him to his innermost core.”

Maria Montessori

Most schools are still built around the old factory model. Bells. Rows of desks. Same lesson, same pace, for every child.

That system can create compliant workers. It does not always nurture curious, self-motivated humans. Although this system served us well in ages past, it is no longer relevant to today’s modern world.

At Our Journey Montessori, children are trusted with meaningful choices. They move, explore, and work with their hands. They learn how to think and how to care, instead of just memorizing and moving on.

Our primary aim is to nurture the unique potential of every student and to cultivate their ability to love learning for life.

Authenticity makes
Our Journey different

We follow true Montessori philosophy: mixed-age classrooms, hands-on materials, and child-led exploration in thoughtfully prepared spaces. Nurturing the whole child.

In our upper campus, you will also see project based learning and intentional use of technology. Ipads and other tools are used to research, create, and solve real problems, not to keep children busy. The method is constant. The tools have evolved as children have evolved.

Teach the Whole Child

Children here learn reading, writing, and math in rich, concrete ways. Right alongside the academics, they practice human skills that matter everywhere:

  • Handling big feelings without shutting down

  • Listening and speaking up with respect

  • Working through conflict and repairing relationships

  • Building resilience when work feels challenging

These habits show up later as empathy, integrity, confidence, and leadership.

“If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.”

—Ignacio Estrada

Nature is Part of the Classroom

We are strong believers in what time outdoors does for children’s bodies and minds.

Our campus includes a large, carefully designed outdoor environment. Children climb, dig, build, imagine, and move every day. The playground functions like another classroom, not as a break from “real” learning.

Classes also leave campus often. Field trips are a regular rhythm, so children learn from the wider world as well as from books and materials.

A Community That Feels Like Family

Parents often describe Our Journey Montessori as an extension of home.

Staff, students, and families build real relationships. Many stay connected long after students move on. We know our students by name, story, and personality, not by a number on a roster.

You are not just finding a school. You are joining a community that genuinely cares about your child.

Programs from Infancy through Middle School

Our Journey Montessori offers a seamless educational experience for children ages 6 months through 8th grade — all on one connected campus.

Infant
& Toddler

(Ages 4 Months – 3 Years)

A nurturing environment designed for discovery and growth. Our youngest learners enjoy gentle routines, freedom of movement, and early opportunities for independence; laying the foundation for confidence, curiosity, and joy in learning.

Early
Childhood

(Ages 3 – 6 Years)

In this classic Montessori stage, children engage in hands-on, purposeful work that builds independence, concentration, and practical life skills. Through exploration of literacy, math, and sensorial materials, they develop both academic readiness and social-emotional awareness.

Elementary
& Middle School

(Grades 1 – 8)

Students dive deeper into big questions and long-term projects that encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. Blending Montessori materials with modern technology, they explore how the world works — and how they can make a difference in it.

The Perfect Alternative to Daycare

Our extended-day and summer programs offer the same high-quality Montessori experience before and after school hours. Children thrive in an environment that feels like home — where curiosity is encouraged, independence is nurtured, and every day is filled with meaningful learning.
