Who we accept and how we decide
Our admissions process looks at:
✔
Your child’s readiness for a specific classroom and Montessori environment.
✔
Your family’s commitment to Montessori education and active participation in school life.
We follow a nondiscrimination policy. Applications are considered without regard to race, gender, disability, religion, or national or ethnic origin.
We value diversity in our student body, staff, and curriculum. Different backgrounds, learning styles, and talents enrich the experience for every child.
All application materials, records, and conversations are kept confidential. We respect the privacy of every student and family.
We welcome children with a wide range of learning needs. At the same time, we recognize there are limits to the highly complex or specialized needs we can support without disrupting the program. When a child’s needs are within our capacity, enrollment may be offered on a provisional basis so we can be sure the placement is working well for them and for the classroom.
Placement decisions are finalized by the Directress with input from parents, teachers, and school records. In some cases, we may request student and parent interviews or classroom visits before enrollment. Every decision is made with the individual child and the classroom community in mind.

Tuition Refund and Reimbursement Policy
Our Journey Montessori School enrollment is an annual commitment. Families agree to pay tuition for the full school year, regardless of a student’s absence, withdrawal, suspension, expulsion, vacation, illness, or other missed school days.
Because classroom placement is reserved for each enrolled child and staffing, materials, and budgeting decisions are made based on enrollment commitments, OJMS does not provide tuition credits, refunds, or reimbursements for missed days or discontinued enrollment, except as specifically described under the new-student provisional period below.
Registration fees, activity fees, book fees, materials fees, and other enrollment-related fees are non-refundable. The new student registration fee is not charged to returning OJMS students.
New Student Provisional Period
New students are admitted subject to a 30-day provisional period. During this period, if either the parent/guardian or Our Journey Montessori School determines that the program is not appropriate for the child, 30 days’ written notice may be given for the child’s withdrawal or dismissal.
In that limited circumstance, tuition will be prorated based on the time attended and the 30 days following the date written notice is received.
Returning students do not have a provisional period and are enrolled for the full school year.
Scholarship Funds
This refund and reimbursement policy applies equally to all enrolled students, including students using scholarship funds such as the Utah Fits All or Carson Smith Scholarships.
Per scholarship rules, no scholarship funds will be refunded directly to a parent, guardian, or student.
